DENTIST TEACHES EVANS ELEMENTARY FOURTH GRADERS THE IMPORTANCE OF BRUSHING AND FLOSSING DURING FEB. 8 DENTAL HEALTH MONTH PRESENTATION
LIMERICK — Evans Elementary fourth graders learned the importance of good oral health after a local dentist gave a presentation during a Dental Health Month event on Feb. 8.
Collegeville dentist Dr. Adam Weiss taught students simple tips to achieve and maintain good dental hygiene, such as brushing and flossing their teeth, and visiting the dentist regularly. Weiss also explained the dangers of chewing tobacco and the harm it can have on the mouth. At the end of the presentation, students were given gift bags filled with floss, toothpaste, disclosing tablets and an informational paper to take home.
“We want to teach students the importance of taking care of their teeth at a very early age because those valuable lessons will stay with them for the rest of their lives,” Evans Elementary School Nurse Laura McNeil Murphy said.
