On behalf of the staff, volunteers and clients of Family Services’ Meals on Wheels program, I would like to thank the greater Pottstown community for their support of our recent fundraiser, a benefit concert with The Fabulous Greaseband at Sunnybrook Ballroom.

This annual fundraiser, with 425 people in attendance, exceeded our expectations and raised approximately $17,000 (net) for our program. These funds will help offset the costs of delivering meals to area seniors. In 2011, our program delivered over 88,000 meals to 400 area senior citizens thanks to the caring hands of 200 dedicated volunteers. 

Kudos to the Meals on Wheels Community Board for planning such a terrific event! I would also like to extend my deepest appreciation to Exelon/Limerick Generating Station for serving as our lead sponsor.

Plans are underway for a repeat performance with The Fabulous Greaseband in 2013, and we hope to see you there!
