Bridge to Reopen Tomorrow
The Royersford-Spring City Bridge is set to reopen on Friday.
PennDOT announced in a press release on Thursday afternoon that the Royersford-Spring City bridge will reopen on Friday. According to the release, pedestrian and vehicle traffic will be permitted to use the bridge, once again.
"Due to the bridge’s importance to the local communities, we committed to reopening the bridge as quickly as possible," said PennDOT District Executive Lester C. Toaso. "Our contractor worked 24 hours a day, seven days a week to build the new bridge deck that will provide travelers with uninterrupted service for at least the next 25 years."
The bridge was closed to the public starting on July 18. Estimates called for an eight week closure, but it was done in a little less than six.
Construction will continue, according to the release, but on the underside of the bridge. That repair will occur throughout the fall season.

PennDOT said the contractor they are using to fix that street had another job on his schedule during the bridge construction. They do have plans on getting that done in the very near future though, according to PennDOT.

New bridge is awesome. Great job, PennDOT! I know they are still doing under the bridge work, but the top is great!
