Originally from Philadelphia, Abrams moved to Cape Coral in 1989 where she worked in a successful family owned business and volunteered for the Chamber of Commerce, where her goal was to help visitors learn more about the treasures of the city. In 1998, Abrams married husband, Troy, with whom she has two children, Brice and Carly, enjoying several years as a stay-at-home mom in which raising her children was top priority.
