The funds helped restore Limerick Township’s playgrounds and parks, supported summer camp programs, and provided renovations to various emergency response facilities. In addition to the Township donation, each year, Exelon and employees of Limerick Generating Station contribute more than $400,000 to support various regional charities and community organizations.

Sounds like a kick back to me if I ever heard one. They need the township to be on their side to renew permits etc. $500,000.00 goes a long way toward getting into the pockets that can help that money eating plant stay in business. In the mean time, they took away the discount for having an all electric house that was in force for many years so those people that use the clean energy of electric for heat, now have one of the most expense forms of heat they can possible have. Did you also now that very little of what Limerick generates goes to the Peco customers near by that have to look at the steaming towers and worry about an accident that could force cutomers from thier homes, Japan is a real example of that. Perhaps they have extra profit from the backs of customers struggling to pay their energy bills, and just plain old over charging. I think Limerick is equally guilty for accepting the money regardless of what it is for. Seems to me, any gift over $25.00 in the worlld of business is considered a kick-back, plain and as simple as that.
