UPDATED: Fire Reported at Walnut and South Sixth Avenue in Royersford

Patch is en route to the scene

 

UPDATE 10:03 p.m.: According to bystanders at the fire scene, the house was empty at the time of the fire. It appears to have started in the kitchen.

Another bystander, a Nelson's Ice Cream employee who is familiar with the home's owner, said that someone rents the home but does not actually live there.  

According to onlookers, the fire is reportedly under control at this hour. Emergency teams are working to ventilate the area according to radio reports.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety Dispatch's Computer-Aided Dispatch system, both fire and emergency medical services (EMS) units have been called out to a reported building fire in Royersford.

According to the CAD system, the units are responding to a building at Walnut and South Sixth Avenue in the borough.

A Patch reporter is en route to the scene and will provide more information about the reported fire as it becomes available.
