Royersford Main Street Briefly Closed for Fire Investigation

Smell of smoke reported at Open Door Ministries

Firefighters closed Main Street in Royersford this morning following a report of the smell of smoke at Open Door Ministries.

Royersford Fire Company and Liberty Fire Company from Spring City responded to the scene.

Royersford Fire Department deputy chief Dave Panetta said the smoke smell was most likely related to the power outage that affected Main Street from 3rd Avenue to 4th Avenue.

A PECO worker was seen working on electrical equipment at a pole near 2nd Avenue. According to one Facebook commenter, the pole "was sparking last night."

Power was restored at about 11:35 a.m.
