Freezing Rain, Heavy Rain and Flood Advisories Issued for Montco
National Weather Service says the area could get wet weather through Monday morning.
According to ReadyNotifyPA alerts, the National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory for Montgomery County. The county is also under a heavy rain and flood advisory.
The advisory issued states that the county could see freezing rain conditions from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11. The conditions could largely affect the morning commute.
"As warmer air moves in at the surface, the freezing rain should change to rain in most areas between 8 and 10 a.m. Monday morning," said the NWS.
Those needing to get to work and school in the early morning hours may find dangerous conditions.
"Untreated roadways, especially bridges and overpasses wil become extremely slippery," said the advisory notice. "Expect longer commuting times during the morning rush."

That's right...Irene was exaggerated, Sandy was overblown, and Nemo was just a dusting! When are you weather conspiracy theorists going to give up and admit that most of the time the weather scientists get its pretty much right? You just make yourself look foolish.

Thanks so much, Patch, for once again beating the mainstream news with this great info! The latest update (2 hours after you broke the story) shows that the worst of the storm will now be north and east of us. Your reporting is invaluable; keep doing what you are doing!

No Susan, I live here. An guess what it was a snow storm. I've lost power before and will lose it again. Bad things happen all the time, whether the news "warns" us or not. Sometimes it's the luck of the draw, sometimes it's stupidity. "Man dies from heart attack shovelling snow", wow, that's news. Do you get wet watching 24 hour coverage of wind and snow??? Guess what, with the rain, a roof will collapse and someone will die, just don't be in a K-Mart today in New England.

It is definitely icy on the roads this morning - watch the sidewalks. I just worry about all the fools driving too fast while kids are waiting on the corners for the school buses. Slow down!

Hi Leigh, I agree totally with you. People drive way to fast in icy roads.
There will probably be black ice, which is more dangerous. You do not know it is there until it is too late.
