A new local editor takes up the reins.
Dear Patch Readers,
I'm very excited to tell you all that effective this week, I am stepping up to take on the Local Editor position that was recently (and brilliantly) filled by Kevin Haslam.
Patch will definitely miss Kevin. He did a fantastic job with the site over the last year, and left me with some big shoes to fill.
Many of you might recognize my name. I have been writing for Limerick Patch since its launch in December 2010, first for original local editor David Powell, and then for Kevin when he took over in June 2011. I feel like I already have a personal stake in this Patch site because I've been here since the beginning.
To tell you a little about me: I've lived in the Royersford and Limerick area for the last 15 years. When I first moved to Royersford in 1997, the Genuardi's on Buckwalter Road was just about the only grocery store in the area, and you had to go to King of Prussia to shop for almost anything else.
I moved to Pennsylvania in 1995 after getting my bachelor's degree from Clemson University in South Carolina. Just this year, I earned a master of arts in publishing from Rosemont College in Rosemont, PA.
Generally when people ask me where I'm from, I say South Carolina. (Usually, they ask that because my Southern accent has decided to pop up!) I consider the town of Clemson my hometown, even though I've now lived in PA longer than I lived there.
But enough about me - this is your Patch as much as it is mine. I want to hear about the things that you think are important, and I'll do my absolute best to find out the things you want to know.
I can be reached anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also call me at 484-374-5769. Feel free to come talk to me if you see me out and about.
Thank you for your support of the site over the last year and a half. I am looking forward to being part of what Limerick-Royersford-Spring City Patch means to this community!
