In The Hunt: Area Youth Invited for Annual Egg Hunt Tradition

The Spring Easter Egg Hunt will take place March 23.

As rain replaces the white snow, and temperatures begin ever so slightly to warm for the coming season, it is a sure sign of one thing: Spring! Grass is beginning to green, and the flowers are starting to peek through the dirt. Winter is almost over.

With the change of the season, so too comes the annual community traditions associated with the new weather. Spring brings about the holiday of Easter, and with it the traditions of rabbits, eggs and baskets.

Limerick is ready for its annual tradition of the Easter Egg Hunt. Slated for Saturday, March 23 at 10 a.m., the event will be held at Limerick Community Park. A rain date, due to the typical spring weather one might expect, has been set for Sunday, March 24 at 1 p.m. in the same location.

There will be four age groups divided for this year's event. Those ages 2 and under will begin, with those ages 3 to 4, 5 to 6 and 7 to 9 all separated by numerical age. The hunt will feature over 7,000 candy- and toy-filled plastic eggs for children to gather.

Parents are welcome to bring along the camera, as a special guest, The Easter Bunny himself, also plans to attend.

The event is sponsored locally by KinderWorks, National Penn Bank and Penn Liberty Bank. For more information on the hunt, visit the website here.
