According to the Global Anabaptist Mennonite Encyclopedia Online, this church "was originally an outpost of the Skippack congregation of the Franconia Conference."
The encyclopedia entry states that "The first building seems to have been erected in 1803, and was enlarged in 1917."

Thanks for the photo - love local history! And I would love going to a small simple church like that! Anyone know any more history of the building?

I attended Herstine Chapel in the 40s when it was the beginning of the Non-Sectarian Church. The church grew larger and located at Ridge Pike in Limerick. Many congregations have started here. The chapel belongs to the village of Neiffer and is maintained by 8 local volunteers. Every December we hold a candlelight sing-a-long and it is attended by 60-70 people and is open to all. Burial records of the adjoining cemetery can be viewed at the chapel. A bulletin board on the front of the chapel gives information for contacts. I live next door. So nice to know you are interested.
