Man Arrested After Showing Gun at Pumptown

The Norristown man has been arrested for felony aggravated assault and other charges.

The following comes from Brandie Kessler of the Pottstown Mercury:

SPRING CITY — A Norristown man who caused a disturbance inside the Pumptown Tavern when he allegedly touched a dancer’s buttocks while getting a lap dance then displayed a handgun to the men escorting him out, was charged recently.

Eric Lamar McCoy, 27, of 725 Buttonwood St., was taken into custody after he allegedly fled from police who were attempting to make contact with him and take him into custody early Sunday morning.

Police said McCoy was inside the Pumptown Tavern getting a lap dance when he was asked to leave after he touched a dancer of her buttocks, according to the arrest affidavit filed by Patrolman James Wyatt. “McCoy argued about having to leave the bar and was escorted from the bar into the parking lot,” where he allegedly displayed a black, semi-automatic handgun at the two men who escorted him outside.
