I think the Limerick Power Plant is fine. However, I think Exelon should give local energy consumers a price break since we paid for this plant through the PECO agreement called "stranded assets" conceived when deregulation was approved and PECO's customers paid $5.6 Billion dollars for construction, when nuclear energy was expensive and other sources were less expensive. now the reverse is true, but the asset was quietly transferred to Exelon from Peco even though Peco's customers paid for it. In conjunction with this, Peco is just going to buy power off the grid and eliminate the RH discounts over 2012. If they do that electric housing heating costs will increase dramatically. and lots of us senior citizens will be colder than last year over the winter..What can we do????I've tried with PECO and the PUC and they don't really care..

I do not think the power plant is 'fine'. Nuclear power is neither safe nor clean, it costs the taxpayer in construction, operation, health and clean up in the event of leaks or more catastrophic accidents. It is also not efficient, providing only 13% of energy usage, which can be made up with green energy. It's only advantage is the corporate profits it produces, all at our expense.
