OMG PD: Accused Killer Seeks Money for Legal Fees from Victim's Estate

This week's stories include an accused killer seeking money for legal fees from the victim's estate and a thief who allegedly tried to sell stolen items in the parking lot of the store he just robbed.

 

Accused Killer Seeks Money from Victim's Estate: According to a report in the Norristown Patch, a man accused of killing his mother, father and brother with a sword in 2011 has filed a request to draw money from the victim's $1 million estate.

The accused killer stated in court documents that he needs the money to retain counsel, as well as hire expert forensic psychiatrists to defend against the charges. He was previously given $16,000 in public funds for his defense. Read the full story here.

Home Burglarized While Resident Showered: According to a report in the Upper Dublin Patch, an Oreland man was robbed after leaving the front-door unlocked while showering.

Accused Thief Sold Stolen Items to Shoppers in Parking Lot, Police Say: According to a report in the Limerick Patch, a Philadelphia man was arrested after allegedly stealing a variety of items from the Philadelphia Premium Outlets.

The report states that the man then went into the parking lot of the outlets, and attempted to sell the stolen items to shoppers in the parking lot. Read the full story here.

Man Allegedly Trashes MCCC Bookstore for Lack of Refund: According to a report in the Ambler Patch, a Souderton man is facing summary charges after he allegedly tossed a gift card rack after being told he would not be refunded for two books.

Over $500 in Razors Stolen from Giant Grocery Store: According to a report in the Plymouth-Whitemarsh Patch, a man walked into the Giant Grocery Store on Ridge Pike, picked up a blue promotional bag from the store, and filled it with $530 worth of Gillette Fusion razors.
