Royersford's own Rick "The Manager" Russo (Mr. Patch 2011) will be partaking in his fourth consecutive Wing Bowl. Patch Editor Kevin Haslam joins Russo to cover his performance.
Just a few days ago, we named Rick "The Manager" Russo, Royersford resident and competitive eater, Mr. Patch 2011. The award came to Russo after he won the polls that occurred in December through early January.
In light of Russo competing in his fourth consecutive WIP Wing Bowl, which is an annual buffalo wing eating contest held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, yours truly will be tagging along to cover all things Rick The Manager!
Russo invited me to be in his "entourage" - the group that hangs with each eater for the entire event. I'll be there, sporting my Patch hat and a Rick The Manager t-shirt, documenting each step Russo takes toward potential victory (although WIP morning show host Angelo Cataldi said Russo has no shot at the glory).
Professional eater Takeru Kobayashi will be competing, so this is a huge opportunity for Rick The Manager.
Check out the below schedule to know when you can see Wing Bowl coverage right here on LRSC Patch.
Thursday, 5-7 p.m. - Chickie's and Pete's on Packer Avenue will be hosting the "weigh in" for the event. I'll be there to snap some photos and meet my fellow entourage members the night before the event.
Friday, 3:30 a.m. - We'll arrive at Wells Fargo to begin our day.
Friday, 6:00 a.m. - Wing Bowl 20 begins with the float parade. Russo promised his float won't disappoint!
Friday, 10:00 a.m. - The contest will have concluded and maybe, just maybe, Rick The Manager will be named victorious. I'll be heading back to Limerick soon after.
Friday, 1:00 p.m. - Check here for my personal impressions of the event and the results.
Saturday, 2:00 p.m. - We'll have an exclusive photo gallery from Wing Bowl 20.
Sunday, 3:00 p.m. - A video documentation of Wing Bowl 20.

I am sickened that this event not only continues but also that it gets media attention. Do you know how many hungry families could be fed by the money spent on this event. Talked about screwed up priorities!
