Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Vehicle in Rofo

Emergency responders were on the scene near Advanced Auto Parts in Royersford to investigate a death on Tuesday night.

A male pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Main Street in Royersford on Monday night around 6:15 p.m.

The accident occurred between 9th Ave. and Advanced Auto Parts. Main Street is currently closed between 9th and Lewis Road, and according to Royersford Officer David Taylor, will be closed indefinitely (for at least a few hours) as an investigation ensues.

Patch arrived on scene at 6:35 p.m. to observe yellow tape blocking off a large chunk of Main Street. Royersford Fire Department was controlling traffic and Limerick, Royersford and Upper Providence police departments were on scene to investigate.

Taylor confirmed a man died in the accident. He also said a passerby/witness administered CPR on the victim until emergency responders arrived at the scene. EMS could not revive the man.

Initial reports indicated the driver of the vehicle did not flee the scene, although that information has not been confirmed.

A broken pet-carrier was observed at the scene of the accident, but it is unconfirmed if that item was involved. Check back later for more details.
