The parade starts at 6th street, but ends where? The Royersford website doesn't even give that much info!

I would have to guess that it probably ends in the vicinity of Borough Hall, but I don't know for sure. In looking back through my notes where it's been mentioned at meetings, I don't think they actually said specifically where.

The ravens descended upon Main St about sundown. The witches and wizzards had no spell over thier demon seeds. Thier gremlins were permitted to run rampant through the mires we call our properties, and the parents followed. There was trash and strewn everywhere w/o any plan(trashbags) from the 'thinking folk' (parents) ... so they stuffed my bins. You all should be embarrassed. Respect is lost in this town and I am far from impressed year after year with this event.

The parade always ends at 3rd avenue. The bands then go perform for the Golden Manor Seniors.

I know what you mean Bryan, I was standing next to a little girl who had practically no chance of getting any candy. Anytime I was able to get in front of these older kids and get candy I gave it to the little girl.

This was our first and last time attending this parade. It was mass chaos with teenagers and parents spilling into the streets grabbing for candy. My three year old couldn't get a piece of candy bc of the two teens in front of us who were standing three feet from the yellow line. There were no floats and just a few fire trucks. What a waste of time.

First time we walked and last time we walk. Some kids acted like they haven't been fed in years. I threw candy at a couple little kids and an older teenager grabbed it and said "this tastes like sh*t" and threw it. Half the time you can't tell who is walking and who is watching because so many people are in the street. We go to the Temple parade up in Reading and it's sooo nice. It's about 6 blocks long, it's a residential and business road. Every one SITS and the kids can SIT and get candy, there is no mass chaos. Maybe Royersford needs to extend it a few blocks to thin people out. I know the police are there and they cannot be at all the spots at all times but they have to come up with a better plan. Ride up and down the sides and tell people to get back. This parade has become a huge joke. At one point a huge group of people came down the street, we thought is was over but here it was just people with I think the baseball players...I have never seen a local parade where so many people have to walk with each group, that should be limited too. Hopefully better planning can happen or you might as well not even have it anymore.

This was our second year attending the parade and I have to say the best part about the event is running into friends and classmates on the streets. The parade itself is secondary.

However, I was a disappointed in the candy situation. The kids along the area where we stood were very well behaved. They all stayed within a foot of the curb and never ran into the street. They patiently waited for candy to be thrown but there wasn't much to be found. It appeared that those involved in the parade were throwing, and in some cases handing, candy to friends and family. My child came home with a total of eight pieces and wondered why no one threw her more.

Overall it was a good night and I thank all who worked so hard to make it happen. We'll be back again next year.
