Police Investigating Recent Break-Ins

Daytime burglaries in Royersford area

Updated 3:09PM: Patch spoke to Detective Ray Bechtel of the Upper Providence Police Department.

"[The burglaries] are spread throughout the township," Bechtel said. "Over the last two weeks, we've had them along the Egypt Road corridor, in neighborhoods along either side of Egypt Road."

The two burglaries on South Township Line Road, according to Bechtel, are newer incidents. Bechtel said that this appears to be a high number of burglaries.

Earlier story:

Upper Providence police have issued a press release stating they are investigating "numerous burglaries in the past several weeks."

Two of the burglaries have happened along South Township Line Road.

The burglaries are occurring in residential areas during the day. Police report that the perpetrators are entering through the back door of the residence.

In one case, police said, a "newer, shiny sedan" was reported in a driveway. Also, according to police, "a suspicious individual soliciting roofing work was observed in the area."

Anyone with any information pertaining to these burglaries is asked to call the Upper Providence Police Department at 610-933-7899.

Tammi, that information wasn't in the press release, but I will contact the police and try to find out.
