Pottstown Man Pleads Guilty to Murder of Girlfriend
Edwin Carrero faces a maximum of 61 years in prison after his guilty plea.
Edwin Carrero II, of Pottstown, pleaded guilty in Montgomery Couty Court today to charges stemming from the death of Alicia "Deena" Schmidt on February 2, 2012.
Carrero, Schmidt's former boyfriend, was charged with Schmidt's murder after her body was found in her apartment. Carrero reportedly confessed to killing Schmidt before he fled to Florida, where he was apprehended.
