RECALL: Infant Travel Beds for Suffocation

PeaPod and PeaPod Plus Travel Beds are being recalled for the possibility of suffocation.

KidCo is recalling 220,000 PeaPod and PeaPod Plus Travel Beds as infants and young children can roll off the edge of the inflatable air mattress and become trapped between the mattress and fabric side of the tent, and suffocate.

"CPSC is aware of a death of a 5-month-old boy in December 2011 in New York, New York, who was found with his face pressed against the side wall of the tent. The cause of death was not determined," according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission recall.

The travel beds are "marketed for use by infants from birth to 3+ years, depending on the model."

The tents were sold at juvenile specialty stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com from January 2005 to present.

Consumers should stop using the tents and contact KidCo for a free repair kit. Consumers can also contact KidCo at 855-847-8600 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday or online at www.kidco.com.
