RECALL: Portable Generators for Fire Hazard

American Honda Portable Generators are being recalled for posing a fire hazard.

 

American Honda is recalling 150,600 portable generators sold between October 2011 and September 2012 for possible fire and burn hazards.

The generator's fuel hose can leak, which can pose a fire or burn hazard to consumers, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission recall.

There have been four reports of fuel leaks, no fires or injuries have been reported to date.

The generators were sold at "Honda Power Equipment dealers, Camping World, Gander Mountain, Grainger, Hertz Rental, John Deere, National Pump & Compressor, Northern Tool, Scheels Sporting, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Sunbelt Rentals, True Value, United Rentals, White Cap and Wholesale Sports store nationwide and online."

Consumers should stop using the generators and contact the nearest Honda Power Equipment dealer to scheduled a free inspection and repair. Consumers can also contact American Honda at 888-888-3139 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or online at http://powerequipment.honda.com.

It is really good if they recall this generators to avoid further accidents that it might cause. Safety should be the first priority.
