Boyertown Christmas Concert this Weekend Features Royersford's Own

The following excerpt comes from the Arts News section of the Pottstown Mercury:

BOYERTOWN — The Boyertown Area Choral Association will begin its 22nd season with a free Christmas concert at 3 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 35 W. Philadelphia Ave.

The chorus is led by Boyertown Area High School graduates Donna M. House and Donna Jean Marshall.

BACA was founded as a tribute to retired Boyertown music teacher Margaretta Lamb, but the organization is not just made up of Boyertown alumni. The chorus includes singers of all ages representing communities, such as Pottstown, Oley, Schwenksville, Reading, Royersford and Kintnersville.

Spring-Ford Grad to Coach Basketball at Rival School

The following excerpt comes from Jeff Stover of the Times Herald:

From Royersford to Reading — as both a player and coach — he’s had a front-row view of the area’s basketball scene for more than a decade.

From that vantage point, Chris Talley compiled an extensive book of knowledge about the sport as it’s played in these parts. And this year, he’s taking that book to the hills of Bucktown as the new head coach of the Owen J. Roberts boys hoop program.
