Royersford Resident Scores a Trip to the Emmy Awards Red Carpet

(Sept. 6, 2011) – After thousands of entries and bake sales hosted across the country, the five winners of the Duncan Hines 1 MILLION Cupcake Challenge and their guests will get the ultimate Red Carpet experience at the 63rd Primetime Emmy® Awards when they will get to see their favorite celebrities right from the stands. Duncan Hines, a Pinnacle Foods Group LLC Brand, is also the official dessert sponsor of the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards Governor’s Ball.

The winners earned coveted trips to Hollywood where they will have preferred seating on the Red Carpet as part of the Duncan Hines® 1 MILLION Cupcake Challenge prize package. The Challenge, in partnership with Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale to help end childhood hunger, rewarded participants who hosted bake sale fundraising events with weekly Double Donations to the teams raising the most money along with entry into the Primetime Emmy® Fans in the Stands sweepstakes. To date, more than $6 million has been raised for Share Our Strength through bake sales, and Duncan Hines will also commit $125,000 in matching funds.

Lisa Bender from Royersford, Pa. also was named a Duncan Hines weekly Double Donations winner for being the largest weekly fundraiser for Share Our Strength. Bender’s Great American Bake Sale featured Duncan Hines recipes including Applesauce Walnut Cake, Coconut Cream Cake, Cookies & Creme Cake and Cupcakes and Chocolate Peanut Butter Surprise Cupcakes.

The winners’ best recipes from their respective bake sales will appear on www.duncanhines.com/bakers-club  to be shared with passionate bakers across the country. The Baker’s Club also offers year-round exclusive access to recipes, baking tips and coupons.
