State of Emergency for Spring City

Spring City will operate under an emergency declaration until Wednesday morning.

Spring City has declared a state of emergency beginning October 29, 2012 at 11:00am and will stay in effect until October 31, 2012 at 11:00 am.

A press release from the Chief of Police said, "Residents are encouraged to stay in their homes where it is safe. Use discretion if you need to venture outdoors. If power outages occur contact the Peco call center not the Chester County communication center."

The declaration authorizes the police department, Liberty Steam Fire Company and the borough Streets and Roads department to manage emergency situations as they arise.

According to the declaration, the borough will evaluate whether they need to extend the declaration beyond Oct. 31 at that time.
