Winter sports have officially begun, Rams fans, and Patch has you covered even more this season. With both basketball teams, swimming and wrestling participating in tournament play over the weekend, we'll see some regular season matchups kick off in the official week one. Here are the top five matchups in Rams sports this week, as well as our new sports schedule. Stay tuned for even more SFHS coverage this winter!

1. Swimming vs. Bayard Rustin (3:30 p.m., Tuesday) - The home opener for the swimming team.

2. Girls Basketball @ Boyertown (7:30 p.m., Tuesday) - The regular season opener for the girls basketball squad. Big implications loom in this matchup as the girls see Boyertown for the first time since last year's PAC-10 Championship loss.

3. Boys Basketball vs. Boyertown (7:30 p.m., Tuesday) - The regular season home opener for the boys squad against division rival Boyertown.

4. Boys Basketball in Mid-Atlantic Shootout (4:30 p.m., Saturday) - This year's event takes place at Octorara. A round-robin of games.

5. Wrestling in Abington Duals (TBA, Saturday) - An all-day wrestling event at Abington High School. Some area teams (but not all) participating include: Abington, Pennsbury, Central Bucks East, Father Judge and Upper Darby.

Sunday - Sports Weekly Roundup - We continue our weekly scores report on Sunday evenings.

Monday - This Week in Rams Sports - Another continuation from fall - we'll list the top five matchups of the upcoming week.

Tuesday - Q&A with... - A weekly question and answer session with your favorite Rams athletes.

Wednesday - Coaches Time Out - A brand new segment starting this Wednesday. The five winter coaches will take a midweek time out to chat with us about what's already happened in the week and what is coming up through the week's end.

Thursday - College Corner - We'll continue to feature Spring-Ford alumni who are now playing or have played collegiately.

Friday - Game of the Week - A look at the best game from the week that was, along with a few runners up.

Saturday - Unsung Hero - Featuring a student-athlete who goes above and beyond, but might not get the attention he/she deserves.
