Retail Thefts at Kohl's, Giant Lead to Arrests

Female suspects allegedly stole jewelry and other items.

Four women were arrested in the last week after reportedly committing thefts at two local stores.

Kohl's

On December 6, Galina Magaziner of Royersford allegedly took eleven pieces of jewelry and three picture frames, valued at $259.07, and placed them in her purse while in the store.

Loss prevention staff approached Magaziner after she reportedly bypassed the registers and attempted to leave the store. A Kohl's employee retrieved the allegedly stolen items from Magaziner's purse. Magaziner was arrested and charged with theft. Bail was set at $20,000.

A second jewelry theft occurred on December 12 at the Kohl's store. A Bechtelsville resident, Teresa Sherman, allegedly stole 25 pieces of jewelry totalling $365.38. Sherman was stopped by Kohl's personnel as she attempted to leave the store.

Sherman was arrested, charged with theft, and release on $2,000 bail.

Giant Food Stores

A mother and daughter were arrested after reportedly stealing items from the Giant grocery store in Royersford.

Linda Boyd, 48, of Norristown and Shanell Boyd, 22, of Spring City were both arrested on December 12. Shanell Boyd was arrested at the store location; Linda Boyd allegedly fled on foot and was apprehended walking along Main Street in Royersford.

Shanell Boyd was arrested and charged with theft. She was released on bail pending a hearing.

Police discovered that Linda Boyd was wanted in both Philadelphia and Chester Counties on theft charges. Records also indicate she has had multiple run-ins with authorities on theft, burglary, and disorderly conduct charges. Linda Boyd was transported to Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
