Verizon Media Relations Manager Lee Gierczynski told Patch that it was "likely Spring City was affected."

"We had a power-related issue at a switching facility in Wayne," Gierczynski said. "When that facility shut down, voice and data traffic were affected."

A press release from the Chester County Department of Emergency Services said that many parts of Chester County had been affected.

Gierczynski said that the power issue had been resolved, and technicians are now working on restarting the voice and data systems.

"It will be about two to three more hours to restore," Gierczynski said.
