When's Trick-or-Treating?

Hurricane Sandy has affected one township's plans for Halloween festivities.

Whether you're going out to knock on doors or hang around waiting for the Great Pumpkin, nobody can deny that Hurricane Sandy could have thrown a big wrench in Halloween plans.

Limerick Township decided on Monday to postpone Halloween festivities until Friday, November 2. Township officials decided to make this change because they were unsure of the impact of the storm and were concerned about safety.

Royersford Borough will still have trick-or-treating on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Borough manager Michael Leonard feels that there is no safety issue since the borough came through the storm in pretty good shape.

"I'm a traditionalist," Leonard said. "Tomorrow's Halloween."

Spring City, according to its website, will have trick-or-treating on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 5:30pm to 8pm. The website says, "Chief of Police Anthony Kuklinski confirms that damage from hurricane Sandy in the borough was minimal and that streets are safe and passable."
