This Week's Plumbing Tip
You can help minimize damage from a broken pipe by knowing where your main shut-off valve is. It can be in your crawlspace or basement or outside your home. If you aren't sure where it is, fall is a great time to look around; you don't want to wait until a pipe freezes and cracks during the cold winter months.
Check to see if you need any tools to turn the water off and keep those tools near the valve. Should a pipe burst, you can quickly turn the water to your house off, stopping further damage.
