Pottstown, PA, September 6th, 2012 –
Rebecca P Minor, a fantasy author and artist currently residing in Pottstown, will have her third book published in October of 2012. Getting the book into online bookstores is only the beginning of the battle, however. The real trick is finding ways to make sure readers know the book is out there.
Minor's third novel, Curse Bearer, will release on October 14th, 2012 with a private release event at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. Curse Bearer follows Minor's 2011/2012 publication of the first two books of another series, The Windrider Saga, even though she began writing Curse Bearer long before the already-published Windrider stories were born.
To help launch Minor’s writing into the best possible level of success, she has decided to tap into the growing trend of crowdfunding. She has chosen to utilize the online fundraising site, www.kickstarter.com, an organization that helps creative people fund projects they have the inspiration to create, but lack the cash to enact.
If you’d like to support the early career of a local author, check out her campaign on Kickstarter by visiting http://kck.st/OBcGHq. Contributors to the campaign have the choice of an array of rewards at various donation levels, some of which include the opportunity to attend the release event at the PA Renaissance Faire. Funds raised by the project will go toward the marketing efforts behind Curse Bearer's release.
This marketing campaign defies convention for what "small publishers" have the resources to do and seeks to lift Curse Bearer above the flood of new books on the market at any given time. This effort will also serve to lay the foundation for her next books, The Windrider Saga: Book 3, which she is currently writing, and the sequel to Curse Bearer which is already in rough draft form and tentatively entitled A Voice Within.
By combining and exciting story with the right marketing thrust, Rebecca P Minor hopes to the product of her creative efforts will reach fantasy readers where ever they are, and that other authors and publishing houses will be inspired to dream big with their own upcoming projects.
