Widely regarded as one of the premier wind players of his generation, Harrison Hollingsworth will perform for the A Little Night Music concert series at the Community Music School, 775 West Main Street in Trappe.  The concert will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 8:00 PM.  Tickets priced from $16 to $18 can be purchased ONLINE or reserved in advance by calling 610-489-3676.  Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door.  A Master Class with Harrison Hollingsworth will be offered 4:00-5:30pm, cost $10.  Please call CMS to pre-register.

Heralded as a “bold, emergent, personality” by The Philadelphia Inquirer, Harrison Hollingsworth is the principal bassoonist of the New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center.  He also holds the Eileen McManimen principal bassoon chair for Symphony in C, where has served additionally as program annotator and first violinist.  He has also been principal bassoonist of the Long Island Philharmonic, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, the Phantom of the Opera Orchestra, and the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra.  Originally from Kingwood, Texas, Mr. Hollingsworth is a winner of Astral Artists’ 2009 National Auditions.

Mr. Hollingsworth’s program will feature selections of Telemann, Schumann, Prokofiev and new works for bassoon including Teddy Abrams’ Bassoon Sonata.  He will be accompanied by pianist and Astral Artist, Alexandre Moutouzkine.

As is the custom with “A Little Night Music” concerts, each evening begins at 7PM with the opening reception of a new exhibit in The Gallery at CMS.  The featured visual artist will be Suzanne Marinell of Penllyn, PA exhibiting artworks in a show titled “Traveling”.  Often inspired by places she has explored, Suzanne Marinell works with watercolors and also experiments with melted crayons.

Offering six concerts a year, “A Little Night Music” concert series presents rising young stars and artists of international renown as well as performing artists from its own highly talented faculty.   Community Music School, a non-profit organization, provides instrumental and vocal music instruction to students of all ages and levels of ability without regard to their particular background or ability to pay.  For further information, please contact CMS at 610-489-3676 or visit on the web at www.cmsmusic.org
