The Creative Writing Division of the Ursinus English Department presents the 2012 Bi-Textual Writers Series, featuring three writers who work in multiple genres.
Jacqueline Jones LaMon will read from her work and sign her books Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. in Pfahler auditorium.
She is the author of two collections, Last Seen, a Felix Pollak Poetry Prize selection, and Gravity, U.S.A., recipient of the Quercus Review Press Poetry Series Book Award; and the novel In the Arms of One Who Loves Me. A finalist for the 2012 NAACP Image Award in the category of Outstanding Literature: Poetry, she lives in New York City and teaches at Adelphi University. Her website is www.jacquelinejoneslamon.com.
Additional writers scheduled are Linh Dinh, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. in Bomberger Auditorium. Dinh is a Vietnamese-American poet, fiction writer, translator and photographer. He was a 1993 Pew Fellow, and is also the author of a book of poems and two collections of stories, Fake House and Blood and Soap.
Also, Nadine Patterson, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. in Pfahler auditorium. She is an award-winning independent producer/director with training in theater. Her films include Todo El Mundo Dance! and Shizue, screened at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. She published the book Always Emerging and is director of the film Tango Macbeth.
