DESCRIPTION:Dr. Kathy Hirsh-Pasek\, the Stanley and Debra Lefkowitz Profe
 ssor in the Department of Psychology at Temple University\, will speak a
 t Ursinus College on Jan. 31. The free public talk will be held in the L
 enfest Auditorium Theater in the Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center at 
 7 p.m.\nDr. Hirsh-Pasek is also the Director of the Infant Language Labo
 ratory. The title of her talk is &ldquo\;From the Lab to the Living Room
  and Beyond: Where Psychological Science Meets the Common Good.&rdquo\; 
 She has written 11 books\, including Einstein Never Used Flash Cards\, H
 ow Babies Talk\, The Origins of Grammar\, and Becoming a Word Learner. H
 er work has also appeared in more than 100 publications.\nThe talk is a 
 program of The Center for Science and the Common Good at Ursinus College
 \, which provides opportunities for all Ursinus students to consider the
  impact of science on the common good and to learn to better communicate
  scientific research to the public. It is funded by a grant from the How
 ard Hughes Medical Institute.\nUrsinus College is a highly selective\, i
 ndependent coeducational liberal arts college located on a scenic\, wood
 ed 170-acre campus in suburban Philadelphia. The college is one of only 
 8 percent of U.S. Colleges to host a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
