The Linfield Fire Company was founded in the fall of 1913 after a fire destroyed a large local business. From the time it purchased its first piece of apparatus, a horse drawn wagon with fire retardant tanks, it has protected the residents of the unincorporated village of Linfield and surrounding areas. The company has operated from its current location since 1985 and is almost always in search of volunteers to join the firefighting crew or provide logistical and other support functions.
