The 2012 Spring-Ford Rams Marching Band has made its last performance of the fall but not without many exciting moments made possible because of some old fashion hard work.  This year’s band under the direction of its new director Mr. Seth Jones represented Spring-Ford HS and the Spring-Ford School District performing over 30 different times from August thru November 30th.

The band this year started out opening the school year at return of the teacher and administration, which was followed by the opening night, perform for friends/families.  The first football game of the year against Whitehall HS from the Lehigh Hill Valley area was the first of many exciting games where the band support the team as they won their first ever district playoff game and made it all the way to the District 1 Championship Game.

The band also this year was selected to perform at the International ASIS (International Security Conference) held at the Philadelphia Convention Center early in September before over 10,000 attendees at the opening session.  The band this year also performed at the opening of Limerick Days along with their yearly parades for Homecoming, Spring City/Royersford Halloween Parades.

This year the Spring-Ford Marching Band achieved yet another Superior Competitive marching band season!  The 127 Member Marching Rams completed the 4th Undefeated marching band season since its first in 2007, 2008, 2010 and this year 2012.  The band maintained it winning ways in the Tournament of Bands SE PA Championship winning streak in tack was the won their 7th Title in a row (2006-2012).  The Marching Rams then followed up their 7th Regional Championship with their 6th Tournament of Bands Championships in Hershey, PA.  With a winning school of over 97 out of a possible 100 they were awarding the TOB Group 4 Championship outscoring the next closest band by 3 Points.  Bands in the championship were from PA, NJ, DE and MD.  On top of receiving the highest score in the class the band also received awards for High Music, High Visual (Marching), High Woodwinds and High Brass.

On top of all the awards, the band received several Sr. members of this years band will be receiving scholarships for essays that they submitted to TOB Chapter 3 (SE PA) to help in their college education.  All three members have been members of the Spring-Ford Band and Music programs during three years at Spring-Ford HS.  The students are:  Shannon McLaughlin (Trumpet), Mique Gonzales (Trumpet) and Christina Maziarz (Alto Horn/Mellophone).  At the Tournament of Bands Grand  Championship Benjamin Rowe (Percussion/Pit) received scholarship from the TOB organization as the marked the 40th Year of the TOB Grand Championship for his essay which he submitted.

Yes, the fall was busy but also highly rewarding as the students again represented themselves, Spring-Ford HS and School District as they showed very one just what they can achieve through hard work.  The band again also held the high standards of excellence and class that has displayed in the recent past years whether it be in its own back yard, Midatlantic region, IL, MD, CA or Canada.  Spring-Ford HS Band stands for as does the Spring-Ford School District.  EXCELLENCE!
