Veterans to be Honored Throughout Spring-Ford Area School District - UPDATED

Veterans’ Day celebrations will be hosted by Spring-Ford Area School District students to honor their local veterans with a variety of presentations, performances, and gifts.

·         Royersford Elementary School at 450 Spring Street, Royersford:  9:30-10:30 a.m.

·         5/6 Grade Center in the cafeteria, at 833 South Lewis Road, Building 2, Royersford:  9:30-10:30 a.m., and 2:15-3:15 p.m.

·         Brooke Elementary School  at Tilghman Hall, Southeastern Veteran Center, 1 Veterans Drive, Spring City:  2:00 p.m.

DETAILS:

Each school will be hosting different events, including flag ceremonies, poetry readings, music and choral recitals, dessert socials and gifts for veterans, staff, and students.  Students will also be making cards to send to troops based overseas.

At Royersford Elementary School, grades 1st through 4th will be assembled for several student performances to honor the visiting veterans, including school-wide presentations of “Wall of Honor,” and “Hands Flag.”  The students and staff have also made gifts and goodie bags for their special guests.

At Brooke Elementary School, 3rd and 4th grade students will honor local veterans with a patriotic repertoire.  After practicing for several weeks, 25 students from the school will present a special song program at the South Eastern Veteran Center in Spring City. 

At the 5/6 Grade Center, 5th and 6th grade students will be present a variety of performances, including poetry readings, musical performances, and a video tribute to veterans related to the school community.  Refreshments will also be available.  The 5th grade class will present in the morning, and the 6th grade class will present in the afternoon.
