Construction to Slow Linfield Road Traffic This Week

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day this week, crews will work to repair a bridge.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that Linfield road will be reduced to one lane between Wells Road and Longview Road in East Coventry and Limerick Township this week.

Crews are working from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday through Friday to make structural repairs to the steel truss members to that the bridge can remain open to traffic.

“The structurally-deficient steel thru truss bridge over the Schuylkill River was built in 1932,” according to PennDOT, who adds that the bridge caries 5,651 vehicles per day.
