Spring City Library Seeks Donations for New Building

The Spring City Public Library is headed to a new home, but it needs the public's help to get there.

The library board seeks $100,000 in donations over the next year to support the new building at 245 Broad St.

The library has served the community of Spring City Borough and East Vincent Township for 103 years, according to a release from the library board. Bertha Brower, a longtime Spring City resident and director of the library for many years, dreamed of a new building that would meet the needs of community members in the 21st century.

"The new library will create a comfortable, inviting, modern environment for Spring City and East Vincent residents, from the youngest to the oldest, where quality service will continue to be provided for all," according to a release from the library board. "The library is already a staple in the community with over 700 visitors weekly, a healthy circulation of materials and lots of programming. With its new building, it will become the place where family, information, technology, knowledge, learning, literacy and community converge."

Donations, which are tax-deductible, should be made payable to the Spring City Public Library and sent to the library's temporary location at 2 Riverside Drive, Spring City, PA, 19475. Note in the memo that your donation is for the Building Project. Donations can also be made online by clicking on “Make a Donation” on the left side of the page.
