Amanda Carr Returning to SunnyBrook Ballroom

Tickets are now on sale for New Year's Eve.

Amanda Carr, a nationally known vocalist and pianist, will be ushering in 2014 at Pottstown's historic SunnyBook Ballroom.

Carr, an Emmy-nominated performer, has been featured with The Artie Shaw Orchestra, Harry James Band and the Glenn Miller Band. She performed as a guest soloist with the Boston Pops,  and toured northern Italy, where she recorded “Live in San Giorgio” with Trio Matinale after heading at Eurojazz Festival, sharing the bill with George Mraz and James Moody.  

Carr has composed and performed award-winning music for two PBS documentaries and received an Emmy nomination for “The Story of Golf” that aired as an 8-part series on the Golf Channel.  She has won awards for her musical contributions to “Boston Red Sox: 100 Years of Baseball History” and original works with children's music with the “Lil'Iguana” series.

Built in 1931, SunnyBrook Ballroom is one of the few remaining large dance halls. It is the third-largest ballroom in the United States and the largest east of the Mississippi.

Tickets are $45 ($55 after Christmas) and can be purchased by contacting the ballroom at 484-624-5187.
