Montgomery County Community College’s student-run business organization Phi Beta Lambda will host a presentation by Economist Dr. Joel Naroff on March 19 from 12:12-1:30 p.m. in College Hall room 144, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell.
During his presentation, Dr. Naroff will provide an inside look into where the economy is going, what it means for jobs, and what economic forces will shape the future. Dr. Naroff is a senior advisor with Econsult Solutions, Inc. and is the president and founder of strategic economic consulting firm Naroff Economic Advisors. In these roles, he advises companies across the country on the risks and opportunities that economic developments may have on the organizations’ operating environments.
A nationally recognized economic forecasting expert, Dr. Naroff was awarded the Lawrence Klein Award for Blue Chip forecasting excellence in 2008, and was also named the Bloomberg Business News top economic forecaster that same year. In 2007, he received the National Association of Business Economists Outlook Award as the top economic forecaster, and in 2006 he was honored as MSNBC’s top forecaster. He was also the first independent economist to win the CBS MarketWatch Economist of the Month award.
Naroff holds bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Chemistry from Stony Brook University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Brown University. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia and of the Corporate Committee of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and he teaches at the Central Atlantic Advanced School of Banking. He is also a former chair of the American Bankers Association’s Economic Advisory Committee and a former president of the Philadelphia Council of Business Economists.
