March Madness at CoreFit Raises Funds for Vince DePaul Scholarship Fund

March Madness at CoreFit is benefitting the Vince DePaul Scholarship Fund.

March Madness has a new meaning at CoreFit in Royersford. All through the month of March, new and existing customers who refer a friend will get a discount, and part of the proceeds will benefit the Vince DePaul Scholarship Fund at Spring-Ford High School.

Paul Gilinger, a friend of DePaul's and son of CoreFit owner Liz Gilinger, said he and DePaul went to high school at Spring-Ford together. They graduated in 2005. DePaul played football, track, was on the wrestling team, and was captain for a few of those sports as well.

DePaul was killed in a car accident in November 2011.

Liz said DePaul was very big into working out, but also touched many people's lives.

Gilinger said, "He was a really nice guy" and said he would reach out to everyone.

Liz said DePaul's mother has just begun working out again, something she and her son used to do together, and she came to CoreFit in Royersford.

Gilinger said, "[CoreFit is] not the same as a gym…it's not intimidating."

Liztold Patch she has been a fitness trainer in the area for 22 years, and the other trainers at the studio have also been in the industry between 15 and 20 years each.
