Rothman Institute Welcomes Donald W. Mazur, M.D.

April 29, 2014 – The Rothman Institute is pleased to announce that Donald W. Mazur, MD, has joined the practice. A nationally-recognized sports medicine surgeon specializing in ACL repair and knee reconstruction, Dr. Mazur, will be seeing patients in our Limerick, King of Prussia and Newtown Square offices. Prior to joining Rothman Institute, Dr. Mazur practiced 16 years at the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic’s Division of Premier Orthopaedics.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Mazur to our group,” said Michael G. Ciccotti, MD, Director of Sports Medicine at Rothman Institute. “He has an excellent reputation not only in the local areas he serves but nationally as well. His work on knee reconstruction, specifically ACL, and cartilage restoration will be a tremendous asset to our patients.”

Dr. Mazur earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He went on to complete his residency at Hahnemann University Hospital and a fellowship at Allegheny University Hospitals. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

He has previously served as assistant team physician for the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phantoms as well as several local high school and college teams and has been recognized as a “Top Doc” by Main Line Today magazine for the past nine years.

He sees patients with a wide-range of sports-related injuries with a focus on knee ligament reconstruction. He is currently conducting research studies looking at knee cartilage regeneration.
