The decision was made to demolish the building. A commercial excavating team from Haines & Kibblehouse was being dispatched from Philadelphia and expected to arrive on the scene sometime after 8:30 a.m.
Linfield Fire Company Chief Don Maleta said Main Street in Linfield will be closed for fire operations for at least the next four hours.

Dozens of firefighters are fighting a stubborn blaze at an abandoned building in the old distillery complex in the Linfield section of Limerick this morning.
Crews arrived at the scene at 5:50 a.m.
At 6:45 a.m. Limerick Fire Company Deputy Chief Glen Russell said the fire is contained to that building but it is not yet under control.
Main Street in the Linfield section is closed to traffic and will likely remain so for the rest of the morning.
The fire broke out in the wake of a severe lightning storm that moved through the area just before dawn.
Officials believe that's the likely cause but no confirmation. The buildings in question have been abandoned since at least the 1970s.
Large mature trees are also making it hard to acccess the area.
