Lots of holiday fun is coming throughout the next few weeks. Here's a rundown of some of the events. Check out our calendar for more!

Borough/township celebrations

Royersford Borough's holiday tree lighting will be on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7pm in the municipal lot at 3rd Avenue and Main Street (next to borough hall). Stop by for the tree lighting and a visit from Santa!

Spring City Borough's holiday tree-lighting will be on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 7pm at the corner of New and Main Streets. There will be a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, hot chocolate and cookies and free trolley rides through the borough. Trolley rides will be happening from 6pm - 8:30pm and pictures with Santa will be available at the Spring City Hotel's remote elf workshop.

Limerick Township is hosting a Holiday Celebration at Limerick Community Park on Friday Dec. 7 from 6pm to 8pm. There will be a holiday hayride, showings of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Shrek the Halls", a visit from Santa and a candy cane hunt. Refreshments will be served. (This event is outdoors, so dress warmly!)

Giving back

There are a few events and drives set up to benefit charities and needy families this year, too.

Toys for Tots are being collected at the Limerick Township Administration Building. The Marines' Toys for Tots drive is one of the largest and longest-running holiday charity drives in the country. New unwrapped toys can be dropped off during regular hours until Dec. 14.

Wonderland of Wishes is an event set up to benefit the Vivian family from Royersford. This event is taking place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center on Sunday, Dec. 2 from 11am-4pm.

Operation Nine Reindeer is collecting items and gift cards to provide a Christmas surprise for two local families. Visit Operation Nine Reindeer on Facebook to learn more.

I didn't see anything about Santa riding on the fire truck in Limerick - will he do that this year?

Cheryl, the Photos with Santa at the firehouse is taking the place of their Santa run this year. They've decided to try something new.
