Lewis Road Project Nearly Complete

The final stages of the project began the last week of October.

Limerick Township's $2.5 million Lewis Road project will wrap up within a few weeks, township manager Dan Kerr said at the Nov. 1 board meeting.

Traffic patterns have been shifted to the recently-paved outside lanes of Lewis Road while the center of the road is re-graded and paved.

Kerr said during the meeting that the stoplights along Lewis Road will be retimed as soon as the paving is finished.

The construction has included widening the lanes and adding turn lanes in front of the Teleflex building and at Cherry Lane.

Eventually East Cherry and West Cherry Lanes wll be connected at a four-way stop, when development is done on the former Linsenmaier property.

I can't wait until they retime the lights. I travel that way four times a day, and each time get all four red lights. Looking forward to the project being complete! :)

How about redoing the entrance:exit at Wawa? On Lewis and Main? I'm so sick and tired of almost being hit at least once a week bc people feel the need to cross onto main st to make the left on Lewis. Of course than there are the folks that feel the need to wave people across 2 (sometimes3)lanes of traffic. Maybe mark the exit clearly so they an use the light by the bank or better yet send some police out there to patrol? You'll increase your revenue greatly just by issuing traffic tickets to the idiots that break traffic laws all day long!

I can just foresee the Lewis Rd. rush hours backup due to the four-way stop at Lewis & Cherry when E. & W. Cherry are connected. Why not utilize the turning lanes for E. & W. Cherry and two-way stops while alowing the majority of Lewis Rd. traffic to flow straight through? Other residents - what say you?
