Teen Hurt in Crash 'Right Where She Needs to Be,' Mom Says

Madeline Maurer's mother posted on Pope John Paul II High School's Facebook page.

According to a post on Pope John Paul II High School's Facebook page, Madeline Maurer's mother Kate, said her daughter is "right where she needs to be," according to her neurologist.

The post reads: 

Thank you Fr. Delacy [Father Stephen DeLacy, PJPHS school pastor] for visiting Madeline. I will keep everyone posted. The neurologist and his nurse both said that Madeline is right where she needs to be. It has only been 4 days!! Please keep praying! And for every person whose hands touch and heal Madeline. Remember them too. Megan Kugler, thinking of you dear alot. She's gonna make it. Love you dear. God bless you all. And let me tell you that every card you made for Maddie, I already have in an album. Every card from Friday night to the cards you made. And her sister Kristen just loved reading EVERYONE!! Made our day!! I too loved them. Some of you are quite artsy!! Have a great week! God bless!

Maurer was seriously injured Friday afternoon in a three-car accident on Swamp Pike in Limerick. She was airlifted to a Reading trauma center following the crash. 

Monday morning before the beginning of the school day, Pope John Paul II High School held a prayer service for Maurer as well as seniors Meghan Kugler and E.J. Wahl.

Kugler was involved in the same crash as Maurer on Feb. 8, and Wahl is fighting a brain tumor, according to a Facebook commenter.
