Affordable Health Care Q & A Program & Sign up

HEALTH CARE Q & A OPEN TO PUBLIC


 
         On November 6, Open Door Ministry, 350 Main Street, Royersford, will hold a workshop on the government’s Affordable Health Care Act.   Anna Mae Galbraith MSN, RN, MBA, Community Health Education and Outreach Director for Phoenixville Hospital, will be presenting this important program that will help answer questions people have about the Affordable Health Care Program.  There will also be time to sign up for those who are interested.



        The session will begin at 6 pm when certified staff will work with individuals who are ready to sign up, followed by a formal
presentation about the Act.  They will also be available before and after the program to assist those who want to go online and sign up.  The program should
conclude by 8 pm.


        The Affordable Health Care Act, commonly referred to as “ObamaCare,” is the new government program designed to assist uninsured and underinsured Americans obtain affordable health insurance.  The web site: www.healthcare.gov was opened on October 1 and is designed to give people a comparison on the various types and costs for coverage available.  Many people may also qualify for government subsidy to help pay for the insurance which becomes mandatory on January 1,2014.


        Those people who elect not to have coverage will incur a fine and be subject to the full cost of their medical bills.  This program is designed to help people make an educated choice about their future health care costs.
