AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY at STEEL RIVER PLAYHOUSE

AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY
By Tracy Letts
Directed by Harland Meltzer
Presented with permission of Dramatists Play Service. Contains mature themes, sexual content, and adult language.

SYNOPSIS
Described by The New York Times as “the most exciting new American play Broadway has seen in years,” August: Osage County centers on the Weston family – a cast of eccentric characters including the sharp-tongued, pill-popping matriarch, Violet, and her alcoholic poet husband, their 3 grown daughters, and a host of extended family members, each with their own little secrets. The whole clan reunites in a frenzy at the Oklahoma homestead upon Beverly’s mysterious disappearance, releasing a maelstrom of unsettling revelations. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, 5 Tony Awards including Best Play, Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Broadway Play, and the New York Drama Critic’s Circle Award for Best Play, August: Osage County is gripping, blisteringly honest, bitingly funny — and sensationally entertaining. You know … the usual family stuff.
