Loretta Hagen  Appearing with Eric Bazilian at Chaplin's the Music Cafe December 1

Spring City, PA November 24, 2012 — NJ award winning, chart-topping, folk singer-songwriter Loretta Hagen will appear with Eric Bazilian Saturday December 1 at 8 pm at Chaplin's the Music Cafe, 66 N Main St. Spring City, PA.

Loretta Hagen, will open the night, delivering rich alto vocals, polished award winning lyrics and tightly woven harmonies. A 2011 winner of the NJ Folk Festival Songwriter Competition, and 2012 Finalist of the CT Folk Festival Songwriter Competition, Loretta recently released her third CD, "Mud and Stone", featuring uplifting heartfelt ballads, playful up-tempo country swing, and cool bluesy grooves.

“Mud and Stone” debuted at #10 on Folk DJ Charts, held consistently at #1 on the Roots Music Report for NJ, #5 Top 50 Folk Albums RMR, and is receiving airplay and rave reviews throughout the US, Canada and Europe. John Platt host of "Sunday Breakfast" on WFUV  and NYC "On Your Radar" states "Loretta Hagen writes songs that sound like they can come from the Heartland, but they also really come from the heart."

Loretta has shared the stage with Pete Seeger, Roger McGuinn, Steve Forbert, Richie Havens, and Gretchen Wilson to name a few and plays premiere stages across the Northeast and Nashville. Loretta's melodies leave folk feeling as is they are listening to their own stories set to song.

Headlining the night the legendary Eric Bazilian  of the Hooters ~ “Nervous Night“, The Hooters’ debut on Columbia, sold in excess of 2 million copies and included Billboard Top 40 hits such as “Day By Day” (#18), “And We Danced” (#21) and “Where Do The Children Go” (#38). After creating 6 well-received albums, The Hooters achieved superstar status throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s. As a result, The Hooters were asked to open 3 of the most important musical events of the century, Live-Aid Concert, 1985 in Philadelphia, Amnesty International Concert at Giants Stadium in 1986, and Roger Waters’ extravaganza at The Wall in Berlin in 1990.

Since then, Eric has become recognized internationally as a gifted songwriter, musician, arranger and producer. Eric wore all those hats while involved with Joan Osborne’s debut project. "Relish" was nominated for 6 Grammy Awards in 1996 including Song Of The Year for the #3 Billboard smash hit "One Of Us" which Eric is proud to have single handedly written.

Globally, Eric’s crafted hits for artists such as Billie Meyers/"Kiss The Rain", Robbie Williams /"Old Before I Die", Amanda Marshall/"Believe In You" and Ricky Martin/"Private Emotion". Whether for other artists or his next solo project, Eric’s unique and diversified songwriting skills and producer talents hint at tradition while inspiring imagination and originality.
