Open Door Ministry will hold an auction at the Main Street Café, 263 Main Street, Royersford, PA on January 25, 2013, beginning at 5:30 PM. The restaurant will be open and food available to order during the auction.
The highlight of the night will be an original piece of art painted by a 20 year old, Asian elephant named Japatee. This piece was donated by the Elephant Art
Gallery in Redondo Beach, California. This colorful work of art is stamped and certified as an original painted by Japatee, his last before moving on to new endeavors.
Artwork has been donated from Chicago artist Kathleen Hardy, whose fanciful fairy and butterfly artwork would be a great addition to any collection. There are
several pieces in various sizes from Hardy. Open Door is also delighted to have several photographic pieces from local photographer Jen Capone.
A well as the many works of art already donated, more are promised. If time does not permit the sale of all the work in one evening Open Door will schedule a second art auction to be announced.
Proceeds from the event will be used to help fund the hunger relief programs operated by Open Door Ministry out of their 350 Main Street, Royersford, location. Each month they provide food to families living below the 185% poverty level. As well, Open Door operates a Senior Food Program, and Love Bags for those who find themselves in need and do not qualify for the monthly food distribution. In February, they will start a healthy lifestyle program for youth of their participants called the Kid’s Back Pack Program. Details on any of these programs and other
